It feels fantastic to be back in Pakistan — specifically in the stunning Hunza Valley — after two years away.

Unlike our last visit, the weather threw a few curveballs our way, delaying our arrival by two days. With no change in the forecast, getting out was just as much of an adventure!

Despite the delays, we’ve managed to make the most of it. Acclimatisation? Check. Spirits? High. And now, with a week of on-and-off weather ahead, we’re crossing our fingers (and wings) for some great flying windows.

While grounded, we've been playing hard (because what else do you do in a place like this?). We hit the rock climbing routes with some solid 6a and 6b climbs, topping it all off with a well-earned slice of apricot cake, and plenty of tea, of course.

Then, finally, after nearly a week of waiting, the skies opened, and so did our wings.

The first flight was well worth the wait. After a 30-minute hike, we launched into our first big valley crossing — soaring up to a thrilling 6,200 metres over the crossing and pushing higher to 6,500. It was the perfect reintroduction to these wild northern skies.

Our second flight had us dancing with thermals two hours in, spinning skyward to a breathtaking 6,800 metres as Rakaposhi loomed in the distance. As always, it’s Tooooo Goooood!

Until next time — fly high, fly safe!
