I’m back from my second Kilimanjaro Paragliding Expedition — and what a ride it was!

Out of our seven climbers, four managed to launch from the summit before the winds turned and shut the door on flying. With conditions no longer safe, I switched to trekking mode and walked down the mountain with the group. Kilimanjaro wasn’t about to make it easy on us, though — we got the full buffet of weather: snow, rain, and even hail.

Those who know me know I like to move fast, so eventually I stretched my legs and headed down ahead, reconnecting with the team later at the School Hut. The next day, luck was back on our side. Conditions lined up beautifully, I laid out my wing, and with a strong breeze lifting me, I was off.

This time, we all managed to get airborne, finding thermals that carried us halfway back up the mountain before soaring all the way down to our starting point. What a way to end the trip!

After a fantastic month in Tanzania and the mountains, I’m now home — resting, recharging, and adjusting to life without a peak in front of me (for now).

But downtime never lasts long… next stop: Aconcagua in December.

Stay tuned for more!
