The Adventures of a Lifetime

South African born Pierre Carter will climb to the summits of the highest mountain on each of the 7 continents and attempt to paraglide off them. Pierre, along with friends, will share their experiences via photographs, video, and blogs from the most remote and fragile corners of the earth.

-THE MISSION-

After climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb”

– Nelson Mandela

It all starts with a dream.

Pierre first thought about the idea of paragliding from the summit of the highest mountain on each continent, known as the 7 summits, back in 1998. After 2000, Pierre began his ascent to adventure.

He started with Elbrus and Aconcagua - successfully summiting both. However, to continue the remaining five mountains would be an expensive exercise, so he pulled together a team of friends that could join him in filming and documenting these experiences that he could share with the rest of us.

With the support and film crew, they returned to the mountains in n effort to capture footage of every summit and flight.

Now, Pierre seeks to accomplish the remaining summits with the company of willing friends.

 -THE SPORTSMAN-

Pierre has been an enthusiastic climber and adventurer since 1982 and started paragliding in 1988. He gained his mountain and flying experience in the Andes, Alps and at Home. He claimed the South African Paragliding champion title a few times during the ’90s and has competed at an international level. In 2008 he was nominated Solomon Adventurer of the Year. He has competed in the Redbull X-Alps in 2009, 2011 and 2013.

So far, Pierre has successfully flown from the summit of Mt Elbrus, Aconcagua, Kilimanjaro, and Carstens Pyramid with Denali having been climbed, but not flown off as the Authorities prohibited the team from flying off by confiscating their gear, and Everest in May 2022, where he became the first person to officially obtain permission to fly from Everest, thus opening up paragliding from Everest and the Region

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my family and friends for supporting me in the various adventures and travels we have shared together, and without whom none of these adventures would have been possible.

The memories we made will be with me forever, thanks for your tears, frustrations and all the laughter !
